The Saducees meet Jesus in the temple and they challenge him to an intellectual duel.  Jesus, of course, thinks outside the box. After all, God is a God of the living, not of the dead.

We seem to know this parable well – the one where a Pharisee and a Tax Collector go to the temple to pray.  Which one are you like?  Are you mouldable and coachable like the tax man?        

When everything changes around us, we want something that doesn’t.  We often hope church will be the one place on constancy.  Maybe it should be the opposite – think of how the characters in the scripture, after all.
